Went to Harford county, met with Deputy PD – really nice person, really nice people in the office.

I wrote this post two weeks ago right after I had my interview in the PD’s office. It didn’t post and then I got annoyed at Blogger, not to mention annoyed that after almost a year of blogging, I’ve got idiotic anonymous comments. While I understand that you’ve got to take the good with the bad, I’ve decided that instead, I’m just going to delete and ban them. Comments are nice, even if they disagreeable. Stupidity is, well, your problem.

So, now that I’m over it, I logged back in this morning to discover this post just sitting here waiting for me. So, you will see the original post will follow up commentary.

Went on my interview today, here are some quick thoughts: Office – super shabby. Peeling wallpaper and rugs that are threadbare, literally. I mean, I know people use the term ‘threadbare’ and they just mean bad. No, this was threadbare. They guy was not selling it up either. (note, I sitll haven’t gotten a call back, I’m pretty sure he knew what I was thinking/feeling or they thought I was not qualified for the entry level position they had interviewed me for.)

Drive – 45-50 minutes from Baltimore city. Must take highways. FYI – Baltimore ranked 17th in country for horrific traffic. Getting worse by the day. (At the same time, that’s the price you pay for living in the city and not in the ‘burbs)

Job itself – entry level district court grunt work. Could be fine, but really, would I want to drive 50 minutes or buy a house someplace out in another county for it? (Have realized that I want to work in either Baltimore city or DC because I can use public transportation for both. Also realize that I would consider living in the county, but really love it here in the city)

I think my dreams of being a PD are slowly diminshing, but maybe that’s okay.
